Since 2023, Art Music Denmark, The Danish Composers’ Society and Musikhuset København have offered two workrooms for composers. There is now another opportunity to apply to join the composers’ working community and get an affordable workstation in an exciting music house.

If you are a composer working on a piece or project within the genres of classical, new compositional music or sound art, you can now apply to join a community of up to 9 composers. Together, you will have access to two rooms in Musikhuset København on Vesterbrogade from June 20 to December 21, 2024.

These are simple rooms with very basic furnishings: a desk, chair and electric piano, best suited for composers who work in relative quiet.

In addition to having a workspace, you will become part of Musikhuset København’s growing user group, which, besides the other composers working in the rooms, includes classical music ensembles, KLANG-Festival Art Music Denmark and more.

Composers in the community must coordinate the use of the rooms with each other and with Musikhuset København. Selected composers will pay a participation fee of DKK 500 for the entire period (one-time payment).

Selected composers will be invited to a joint coordination and info meeting around June 20 at 10:00 AM, after which the rooms can be used.

Selection

It is required that you are professionally working on a project or piece within the genres of classical, new compositional music or sound art. Art Music Denmark will handle the selection through a lottery among qualified applicants.
