A professional development course for music players
Accelerator was developed by TEMPI in collaboration with Art Music Denmark and has existed since 2021. Accelerator is aimed at a wide range of professional players across the music scene and offers an intense 1-year Accelerator course consisting of online webinars, physical seminars in connection with festivals and individual guidance. Throughout the course, participants work with central themes such as project development, communication, partnerships, leadership, business models, digitalisation and audience development. The course concludes with presentations of the participants’ projects to a professional panel.
The Accelerator is designed as a practice-oriented development course, where participants receive both concrete tools and the opportunity to join a strong professional community with other projects.
The course also provides access to networking and sparring in connection with, among others, SPOT Festival and Klang Festival.Accelerator was developed by Martin Buck Hegaard (BARC) and PhD Søren Friis Møller, who is also responsible for the teaching part of the course
Musician Nadia Okrusko, who participated in the course in 2024, talks about her experience:
“I was part of the Accelerator course in the spring of 2024. It was a great help to set aside fixed, planned time each week for my project idea and to have it reflected through feedback from other participants, course organizers and homework. I can highly recommend the course to those who are working on something concrete, relatively short-term and with a clear goal in mind, but it can also be useful for a more long-term idea.”
