Based on the open call from Art Music Denmark earlier this year, three artists from the Danish scene have been selected to participate in this year’s visiting programme in Berlin during the Month of Contemporary Music.
The selected participants are:
Kirstine Lindemann
Lorenzo Colombo
Frej Wedlund
The international visiting program, taking place from 2-5 October 2026, allows participants to explore Berlin’s contemporary scene through visits and networking activities. This year, the program has been expanded and brings together participants from France, the Netherlands, Iceland, Luxembourg, Austria, Finland, Norway and Switzerland. Through this, the program creates a framework for new encounters and connections across the European scene in shared artistic exchange.
“I am looking forward to taking part in the Month of Contemporary Music together with other European colleagues from the new music scene. I am especially looking forward to discovering new venues and artists, and I am also excited to take part in the ensemble festival, where all established Berlin-based ensembles are gathered.” – Kirstine Lindemann
“I’m looking forward to getting a feel for the Berlin scene and also specifically to pitching Panic diaries, a larger work for Danish ensemble K!ART that attempts to embody panic disorder.” – Frej Wedlund
“I’m genuinely excited about the possibility of joining the Berlin Visiting Programme – returning to one of the most inspiring artistic environments, where boundaries are constantly challenged and reimagined. Being immersed in such a vibrant context, and engaging directly with artists, ensembles, and curators, would be an invaluable opportunity to spark new collaborations, deepen existing connections, and expand my artistic perspective through an open, curious, and exploratory mindset.” – Lorenzo Colombo
The selection was made by a jury consisting of representatives from the partners and inm / field notes Berlin.
About the selected artists
Lorenzo Colombo
Lorenzo Colombo is a percussionist, performer and sound artist based in Copenhagen with a focus on contemporary music and experimental practices. He is a co-founder of the ensemble NEKO3 and collaborates regularly with a number of European ensembles and composers. He works both as a soloist and with new works in close dialogue with composers, and moves between performance, teaching and cross-media formats.
In connection with the visiting programme, Lorenzo is taking advantage of his stay in Berlin to present his new solo project at Morphine Raum on 6 October, featuring music by Mads Emil Dreyer.
Kirstine Lindemann
With a particular interest in the body and movement as compositional material, Kirstine Lindemann’s work revolves around the space between you and me. In 2021, she received the talent award from the Carl Nielsen and Anne Marie Carl-Nielsens Fond, and in 2024, the Pelle Prize after composer Pelle Gudmundsen-Holmgreen. In 2025, Lindemann received the Carl Nielsen and Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen Honorary Prize and the Danish Composers’ Association’s special work grant, Nye Veje.
Frej Wedlund
As a composer, Frej Wedlund works with fragile and intimate materials – formerly purely within acoustic music, but more recently in intermedial contexts as well. He is drawn to sounds that exist in an uncanny valley between the acoustic and the electronic, as well as to the particular intensity of the concert situation itself.
The project is carried out in collaboration with inm / field notes Berlin, Centre National de la Musique, Fonds Podiumkunsten Netherlands, Iceland Music, Kultur | lx – Arts Council Luxembourg, Austrian Music Export, Music Finland, Music Norway and Schweizer Kulturstiftung Pro Helvetia. The Danish participation is supported by the Danish Arts Foundation.
