Art Music Denmark is pleased to announce the two selected participants for this autumn’s Spain Residency at Fundación Valparaíso in Mojácar, Almería, Southern Spain: pianist Nadia Okrusko and cellist Andrew Power.

The residency will take place from October 1–15, offering classical musicians two weeks of immersion and artistic focus in an inspiring environment.

We asked Nadia and Andrew what they are looking forward to during their stay:

“I’m looking forward to developing concrete ideas for an interdisciplinary performance combining music, soft sculpture installations and video projection, as well as working on my piano music program.” – Nadia Okrusko

“I’m super grateful to Art Music Denmark, and I’m really looking forward to being at the beautiful Fundación Valparaíso for an exciting, quiet, and focused period. I’ll be exploring artistic funding models in contemporary music and starting to shape a new cello project that will lay the groundwork for several upcoming collaborations.” – Andrew Power

About the artists
Nadia Okrusko is a classically trained pianist from Lithuania who has been active on the Danish music scene since 2016. Her practice spans chamber music, improvisation and visual art. She is a member of the Copenhagen-based international collective Damkapellet.

Andrew Power is a British cellist based in Copenhagen. His work includes solo performance, ensemble playing and curatorial projects. In 2025, he was nominated for an Icelandic Music Award and was the recipient of the Pelle Prize.

The residency is initiated by Art Music Denmark in collaboration with Fundación Valparaíso and supported by the Danish Arts Foundation and the Augustinus Foundation.
