Residencies

Art Music Denmark offers several international residencies annually, available to Danish musicians working within Art Music Denmark’s music genres.

In collaboration with a number of national and international partners, we have offered various residencies in recent years in, among others, Southern Spain, Germany, Paris, Norway and the USA. The general intention of the residencies is to give musicians the opportunity to immerse themselves in their artistic practice and to strengthen their international networks and career opportunities. Below you will find a brief summary of the various residencies we offer.

To stay updated about upcoming residencies, follow us on Facebook, Instagram, subscribe to our newsletter or keep an eye out on our website.

If you would like to know more, or have questions about our residencies, please feel free to contact us at info@artmusicdenmark.org.

Cité Internationale des Arts (France)

In the heart of Paris’ artistic districts of Montmartre and Marais, artists are given housing, a workplace and access to an international environment. The residency provides both networking, inspiration and the opportunity to develop their own projects in close contact with the city’s vibrant music scene.

  • Duration: 3 months
  • Location: Paris, France
  • Date: By appointment, but no later than the spring of the following year.

Cashmere Radio (Germany)

Artists will have daily access to Cashmere Radio’s renowned studio facilities and a curated networking program in Berlin’s experimental sound scene. The residency will also provide the opportunity to present their work in a radio show and learn more about artistic and community-driven approaches to the radio format.

  • Duration: Approximately 9 days
  • Location: Berlin, Germany
  • Date: September/October

Fundación Valparaíso (Spain)

This artistic oasis in Andalusia focuses on immersion and exchange across disciplines. The stay provides peace to develop your own projects while being inspired by an international community of artists.

  • Duration: 2 weeks
  • Location: Mojácar, Almeria, Spain
  • Date: October/November

Bang on a Can Summer Music Festival (USA)

During the three-week course at Mass MoCA, participants work intensively with ensembles and the teachers behind the internationally acclaimed Bang on a Can collective. The residency concludes with LOUD Weekend, where works and collaborations are presented at a large three-day festival.

  • Duration: 3 weeks
  • Location: North Adams, Massachusetts, USA
  • Date: July/August
