In the beginning of June, Art Music Denmark participated in the ISCM World New Music Days Festival, which this year took place in Lisbon, Portugal.
For this year’s edition of ISCM, Denmark was represented by composer Aske Zidore, whose work Lark Animations was performed as part of the festival’s symposium titled “Thirst for Change”. As always, the festival presented a diverse range of works by composers from around the world.
The ISCM World New Music Days Festival is held each year in a different country and serves as a platform for the presentation and exploration of new music. This year’s edition was organised by Miso Music Portugal, and it was both exciting and significant to be present at an international festival where many musical realities meet to exchange experiences, knowledge and inspiration.
As full associate member of their association, Art Music Denmark also voted for a number of changes at this year’s general assembly, where changes were made to ISCM’s Executive Committee. A new president and vice president were elected, and three ordinary board members were elected or re-elected for a two-year term.
Next year’s festival will take place in Bucharest, Romania, and the open call for work submissions will be announced soon.
