Do you want to be an artistic knowledge agent? Art Music Denmark is seeking a person who, for a limited period, can act as an artistic knowledge agent by participating in relevant professional events and contributing to developing the agenda for discussing the role of music and art in light of the climate crisis.
The goal is to provide someone with the opportunity to enhance their professional knowledge, expand their network and contribute to the discussion on sustainability and green transition within classical music, new composition music, and/or sound art.
We expect you to:
– Independently seek out and participate in relevant activities, including the “Time to Listen” conference, which takes place in October 2024 in Berlin.
– Share knowledge with Art Music Denmark based on these activities and write at least one topical article for Art Music Denmark’s own or partners’ media.
Background
In recent years, there has been an increased focus on how to work with sustainability and green transition within art and music. The situation remains critical, and there is a need for new ideas, new perspectives, more knowledge and stronger voices. In 2023, Art Music Denmark initiated a pilot project in collaboration with the Danish Composers’ Society and Initiative Neue Musik Berlin to explore how to work with sustainability from an artistic perspective.
Art Music Denmark wishes to continue its work on this issue and gather and develop knowledge in the area. Therefore, we are now seeking an artistic knowledge agent who, for a limited period, can contribute to the development of knowledge and discussion about the role of art and music in a world dominated by ecological crisis.
About you
You have a background in artistic, curatorial or other relevant practices. You have an interest in sustainability and green transition within music, art or the cultural sector. You can work independently and articulate yourself in Danish and English.
It is an advantage if you have insight into one or more artistic production frameworks as well as knowledge and experience in sustainability and green transition.
Practical information
You will be employed from September 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025.
Travel and accommodation expenses related to participation in conferences and meetings are as a rule covered by Art Music Denmark. The practical framework for the work and participation in activities will be agreed upon between you and Art Music Denmark. The fee for the employment is paid as a B-fee and amounts to DKK 10,000 all-inclusive.
What to submit?
Send a short motivational text (max 1 A4) and a CV outlining your experience in the area. Send the text and CV to job@artmusicdenmark.org. Indicate “Vidensagent” in the subject line.
