SPOT FLUX

SPOT FLUX: The art music platform at SPOT Festival

SPOT FLUX is art music’s contribution to SPOT Festival and a collaboration between SPOT Festival, the Danish Composers’ Association and Art Music Denmark. The project was launched in 2024 with the ambition to give art music a new, visible and current platform at a festival that has been a meeting point for new trends in Danish music across genres for many years.

SPOT FLUX creates a space where composers, musicians, ensembles and the industry can meet across genres and traditions. The audience at SPOT Festival is curious and open to the new – also when it comes to art music – and the project has shown that this particular context provides an opportunity to present the genre in a new light and create unexpected connections between different musical environments.

The professional part of the program focuses on networking, dialogue and knowledge exchange between artists and international and national industry players, thereby helping to strengthen the presence of art music in the wider music scene. In 2026, the project will be expanded with an open call for new chamber music and sound art, which will further develop SPOT FLUX as an open and experimental platform for art music.

The project is a collaboration between Art Music Denmark, SPOT Festival and the Danish Composers’ Association with support from the Augustinus Foundation and the Danish Arts Foundation.
