OPEN CALL: Tutti #2 – Audience Development for Small Concert Organizers

At Art Music Denmark, we are pleased to announce an Open Call for participation in a unique network designed for small concert organizers, music associations, and festivals within the classical music scene.

The network focuses on audience development, improving communication strategies, and strengthening local partnerships to ensure a sustainable future for classical music and your organizations.

The network will host activities and meetings in both Eastern and Western Denmark to ensure broad participation and foster collaboration across regions. It is expected to launch in June 2025 and conclude in 2027.

Why Join the Network?
In recent years, many small concert organizers, music associations, and festivals have struggled to keep up with changing cultural consumption habits in Denmark. Despite these challenges, they continue to play a vital role in the classical music scene. This new network aims to equip participants with the necessary tools, knowledge, and strategies to enhance audience engagement and expand their reach. The overall goal of the project is to ensure that classical music thrives and evolves as an art form throughout Denmark.

The network will hold four annual meetings, each focusing on different aspects of audience development, strategic planning, and partnerships. Participants will also gain access to resources, expert insights, and mentoring programs that provide opportunities to experiment with new concert formats and strengthen their local presence.

Who Can Apply?
We invite music associations, festivals, and other small concert organizers with a focus on classical music to apply. Ideal applicants are those eager to improve their organizational strategies and audience engagement. Participants should be willing to dedicate their volunteer hours to developing and experimenting with new initiatives. In return, we offer dedicated instructors, inspiring meetings with like-minded peers, and a network with activities and gatherings in both Western and Eastern Denmark, making participation accessible to organizers across the country.

Program Details

  • Four annual meetings with expert-led workshops on audience development, strategic planning, and partnerships.
  • Ongoing support, knowledge sharing, and access to a shared knowledge and resource platform.
  • A targeted audience survey to track progress and measure the impact of the program.
  • Mentorship programs with experienced professionals in the field.
Access to a collaborative, nationwide network of like-minded organizations.
    Expected Outcomes:
By the end of the program, you and your organization will have developed a clear audience engagement strategy, improved your communication skills, and strengthened your local partnerships.
