OPEN CALL: Explore the vibrant contemporary scene of Berlin

Photo: Stefanie Kulisch

Berlin is one of the most exciting cities for contemporary music, with a scene that moves between the experimental spaces of the independent scene and established concert halls. The Month of Contemporary Music brings this diversity to life each year, showcasing various artistic positions, current trends, and new works through concerts, performances, and sound installations.

In a three-day program from September 13 to September 15, 2025, Art Music Denmark, Kultur | lx – Arts Council Luxembourg, Pro Helvetia, and field notes invite musicians, composers, ensembles, and curators to explore the Berlin scene and connect with its key actors.

The programme includes:

– The opening concert of the Month of Contemporary Music on September 13, 2025, featuring the AGGREGATE Festival by gamut inc at the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church
– More concert visits with artist talks
– Studio visits and meetings with project spaces
– Networking events with Berlin-based artists and organizers
– Opportunities to connect with other international participants of the programme

To ensure the programme is tailored to the individual needs of participants, we offer personal consultation before the trip and support in arranging meetings with key figures in the Berlin music scene.
