The Danish Arts Foundation’s Project Support Committee for Music has provided an extraordinary grant for the genre organizations’ international transport support.
The Danish Arts Foundation’s The Project Support Committee for Music has once again provided an extraordinary grant for the genre organizations’ international transport support this year. The total extraordinary grant amounts to 633,000 DKK, giving Art Music Denmark nearly an additional 160,000 DKK to distribute. The demand for international transport support from Danish musicians is steadily increasing, as data from the genre organizations substantiates.
The international transport support is distributed by the four genre organizations Art Music Denmark, JazzDanmark, ROSA, and Tempi, which collectively receive between 400 and 800 applications annually from Danish musicians traveling abroad with their music or bringing international musicians to Denmark.
The number of applicants, as with last year, is growing, and therefore, the Project Support Committee for Music of the Danish Arts Foundation has decided to grant an extraordinary subsidy of 633,000 DKK, which is allocated with 158,250 DKK to each genre organization for disbursement in 2024.
Before the extraordinary grant, Art Music Denmark’s funding pool was 683,928 DKK, making the total distribution pool now 791,250 DKK.
“Art Music Denmark annually receives far more qualified applications than we can accommodate. At the same time, we are experiencing a steady increase in the number of applications. We are therefore very pleased that the Danish Arts Foundation has decided to supplement this year’s two remaining application rounds so that more can benefit from the pool in 2024,” says Regin Petersen, Director of Art Music Denmark.
