Art Music Denmark contributes to the Royal Couple’s state visit to Estonia and Lithuania.
On January 27 and 30, Art Music Denmark is pleased to be responsible for the cultural and social programme during the Royal Couple’s state visits to Estonia and Lithuania.
Art Music Denmark works to promote and support Danish art music. We do so for a reason: art music can serve as a meeting point, where we can gather around both our differences and shared values. In this way, music also plays an important role in our societies and communities – both nationally and internationally – and can make a significant contribution to social cohesion.
When the Royal Couple conducts their state visit to Estonia and Lithuania, we at Art Music Denmark are therefore pleased to contribute to the cultural and social content of the two visits. During both visits, we, together with a number of other actors, will serve as organizer and co-host of two side programmes, where we will be responsible for two networking events under the title “Song & Identity..
The networking events will take place at Kultuurikatel in Tallinn and at the Lithuanian Composers’ Union in Vilnius, and will feature both choral performances and a panel discussion with Danish, Lithuanian, and Estonian participants on how song, as a cultural and political form of expression, has shaped social values and cohesion in both Denmark and the Baltic region.
The two networking events are organised by Art Music Denmark with DUVE – The Young Vocal Ensemble, the Estonian Composers’ Union, the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, and the Lithuanian Composers’ Union as co-hosts, in close cooperation with the Danish Cultural Institute and the embassies in Estonia and Lithuania.
You can register via the two links below, where you will also find further information about the programme for each event. The registration deadline is 23 January.
Register for the networking event in Estonia on January 27 here and in Lithuania on January 30 here.
