Art Music Denmark offers a Danish composer or musician the opportunity to participate in the French music institution Ircam’s workshop ‘Ircam Forum’ from March 18-21, 2026.
The grant cover transportation, accommodation, meals, participation fee for a talk at Le Bicolore and the participation fee for Ircam Forum, where the selected participant will present their work as part of the official program.
In addition to the presentation, the selected artist will also participate in a brief moderated talk about their project at Le Bicolore on March 19.
The application deadline is February 8 at 11:59 PM. Applicants will receive an answer to their application by the following week.
About Ircam
Ircam – Institute for Research and Coordination in Acoustics/Music – is one of the world’s largest public research centers focused on both musical expression and scientific research. Founded in 1977 by Pierre Boulez, Ircam has since served as a unique institution combining artistic sensibility with scientific and technological innovation.

About Ircam Forum
For over 30 years, Ircam has facilitated a network for professionals and enthusiasts in cutting-edge music and sound technology. Each year, they host Ircam Forum, providing insights into the latest technological developments through presentations, workshops and concerts, with much of the content stemming from Ircam’s own research.
The final program for the upcoming Ircam Forum will be announced soon.
The selected Danish musician/composer will be invited by Ircam to present their work as part of the program with a 20-minute presentation (conference format) during the workshop days.

Talk at Le Bicolore
The selected artist will participate in a talk about their project at the gallery Le Bicolore on March 19. The talk will be part of a networking reception organized by Maison du Danemark – Le Bicolore and The Danish Embassy in Paris in collaboration with Art Music Denmark and Ircam.

Who Can Apply?
Danish composers and musicians working with technology as part of their practice.
Art Music Denmark will cover travel to and from Paris, accommodation, a participation fee for a brief moderated talk at Le Bicolore as well as per diem.
In 2025, musician and composer Xavier Bonfill was selected to do a presentation on the development of his instrument “vssl”. About his participation in Ircam Forum, Bonfill said:
– “I would recommend other musicians and composers to attend the IRCAM Forum. It offers great insight into developments at one of the leading centers for music and technology, the opportunity to present your own projects in unique settings and valuable feedback from a specialized international community.”

Ircam offers the selected artist free participation in all days of Ircam Forum and a reduced price for Forum Ircam Premium membership (50%).

Applications will be reviewed by representatives from Art Music Denmark’s Music Committee.
Applicants can expect a response by week 7, 2026.
