Earlier this year, we launched an open call for a residency in southern Spain for classical musicians. The purpose of the residency was to give musicians an opportunity to have intense practicing sessions and establish new, international networks. KIMI Ensemble was chosen for the residency and was away for two weeks at Fundación Valparaiso from November 3th to November 16th.
KIMI Ensemble tells about their residency:
“KIMI Ensemble has been on a residency in two weeks in Spain at Fundación Valparaiso, which turned out to be a paradise for artists, who wishes to to go into depth with a project, become inspired and focus on their work without being distracted by the bustle of everyday life. There was plenty of space in the “Auditorium” in Fundación, where we could all meet and practice together as well as separately. At the end of the residency, we had a showcase of our work, where we played a part of our repertoire from “Galgenlieder”, which we worked on under the residency, and the two other artists at Fundacíon made a presentation of the works, which they created there as well. It was an unforgettable experience and place, which we’d love to return to. We’re grateful for the opportunity to stay at Fundación Valparaiso and will highly recommend it to other musicians”.
