Open Call: Visiting programme “Month of contemporary music”

Art Music Denmark, NEUSTART and inm – initiative neue musik berlin / field notes invite curators, performers and composers to join a specially designed visiting programme during Month of Contemporary Music in Berlin.

The visiting programme takes place: 1/9-3/9, 2023.

The Month of Contemporary Music is an umbrella festival curated by the collective Berlin music scene. The festival invites you to discover current works by Berlin ensembles, artists and composers in concerts, performances and sound installations – both in established concert halls and in independent venues.

The visiting programme is designed for Danish professional curators, performers and composers. Participants of the programme will be introduced to chosen Berlin based actors of the contemporary music scene.

The visiting programme includes:

  • Concert visits including the opening concert of the Month of Contemporary Music by Zinc and Copper and Robyn Schulkowsky on September 1st.
  • Network events with artists from the Berlin contemporary music scene and preset individual meetings with Berlin actors as well as studio visits.
  • and more…

Each participant will be offered an introduction meeting as well as other preparation for the programme. If you are chosen for the programme, you will go with a team of other Danish music professionals as well as the consultant of contemporary music from Art Music Denmark. 

The programme covers:

  • Travel
  • Accommodation
  • Concert tickets
  • Per diem
  • Meals included in the programme

Local travel in Denmark as well as own meals in Berlin are not covered.

If you are a performer, curator, representative of an ensemble, festival or in other fashion connected to the Danish contemporary music scene you can apply for participation by filling in the form below.

The jury consist of members of Art Music Denmark’s music board and a representative from Initiative Neue Musik Berlin.
